Jo Ann (Shaffer) Cline

Jo Ann (Shaffer) Cline, age 82, of Marion, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Rolling Meadows, LaFontaine, Indiana.

Jo Ann was born May 29, 1935 in Hemit, California the daughter of the late Earl and Sarah June (Jeffers) Nelson.  She married Ronald Shaffer Sr. in 1954 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2010.  In 2012 she married Jack Cline and he survives in Marion.  Jo Ann was a Quality Control Inspector at Ball Foster for 40 years until her retirement. 

She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Sweetser.  Jo Ann was an avid gardener, and loved watching hummingbirds and nature.  She loved to crochet, read the Bible a lot and enjoyed participating in church activities.  She loved to travel and spend time with her family.

Jo Ann is also survived by a son, Ron L. (Janet) Shaffer II of Marion; a daughter, Cindy M. Timmons of Valparaiso; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Burr Nelson and sister, Nora Jane Grenier.

Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Visitation will also take place from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in the funeral home prior to funeral services.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in the funeral home with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating.

Burial will take place in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana immediately following funeral services.
