Sorry we were unable to attend the viewing and funeral. I have had the pleasure of enjoying Andy at work and riding bicycles together for many years. I saw your family grow from little ones to adults. We were able to visit with you one day after you had moved to Suite Living and enjoyed our time together. Please accept our sympathy for your family's loss.

As an only child, of course I always thought I needed some siblings. Uncle Val and Aunt Vivian were always so willing to open up their home to me so I could enjoy special times with my 5 cousins. I have two mental pictures of Uncle Val that I will always carry with me. One is of him dressed in his blue Marion "Y" Wheelmen tracksuit, ready to go on the next ride, whether it was a local club outing, or his favorite annual Hllly Hundred. The other is of him bent over the hand-crank ice cream freezer at one of our many family gatherings, working to provide home made ice cream to all the kids. Family was of utmost important to Uncle Val and I know he is now trading stories with my mother, Aunts EEE and Alta, Papa and Mama in that "better place" where he has been welcomed.

My father worked at Dana for nearly 38 years. Dad was the president of Allied Industrial Workers of America, Local 113 for 20 years. I am sure that Robert knew my father. I am so very sorry about your loss. I send you my sincere condolences. My prayers are with you during this sad and difficult time. May God bless you with His peace during your time of loss.

Dear Anderson Family,
It was my very great pleasure to work with Val at Dana Corp many years ago. We just called him "Andy" at work. He was the epitome of straight-laced integrity, an honorable man. I about drove him crazy quoting scriptures to him, but he overcame my impetuosity and we developed a good friendship in brotherly love. I remember his great dislike for, as he called them, dungarees. He wouldn't be caught dead in them! Can't remember exactly why, maybe because he didn't like Elvis or something.
Anyway, he was a great guy and will certainly be missed.
May God be with you in this time of loss.
