LESTER MITCHELL, age 86, of Marion, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Wesleyan Health & Rehabilation Center, Marion.
Lester was born on October 17, 1923, in Marion, Indiana, the son of the late George and Edna (Herring) Mitchell. He married Doris Wilson on July 6, 1946. She survives.
He was a millright at the Marion General Motors plant for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Elks Country Club in Marion and Phi Delta Kappa. He attended Grace Community Church and loved to fish.
Survivors include: wife, Doris Mitchell of Marion, Indiana; daughter, Deborah Brubaker (Merrel) of Marion, Indiana; sister, Marjorie Shively of Gas City, Indiana; two grandsons, Matt (Kylie) Brubaker & Mitchell (Lindsay) Brubaker; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Russell, Edward & Raymond Mitchell.
Graveside Services & Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010, at Grant Memorial Park with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
There will be no visitation.
