Donna Melick (Smith) Lamkin

Donna Melick Lamkin, formerly of Sweetser, passed away April 14, 2024, at Magnolia Village, Bowling Green, KY, she was 91 years old. She was born May 11, 1932, in Sweetser, Indiana, the daughter of the late Paul Everett and Hazel (Hocker) Smith Sr. She married Merle Melick on September 3,1960, and he preceded her in death, she then married Alfred W. Lamkin Jr. on June 1, 2004, and he preceded her in death also.
Donna proudly served her country in the United States Air Force, 1st Lt. Medical Corps, where she was stationed in Japan. She graduated from Ball Memorial School of Nursing and was employed as an RN at Marion General Hospital until her retirement. 
Donna enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids, traveling and RV camping, working on craft projects.
Donna is survived by one son, Michael Duane (Donita) Melick, of Gas City, two daughters: Lucinda (Eric) Midgette, Woodburn, KY and Trisha (Shawn) Kendregan, of Ossian, one sister, Janie (Allen) Horak, Carson City, MI, four grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Midgette, Shelley (Robb) Kercheville, Blake (Allison) Midgette, Hannah (Zack) Tinsley, thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her late husbands and parents, Donna is preceded in death by one sister, Regina Bragg and one brother Paul Everett Smith Jr. 
Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from Noon to 1:00 PM at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, 1202 W Kem Rd. Marion. Burial will follow visitation at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion.
