Donald Reagan Obituary

Donald L. Reagan, age 89, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018 in his Marion home.

Donald was born on September 11, 1928 in Marion Indiana the son of the late Jerome and Nerva (McCarroll) Reagan.  He married Nancy Cruea on June 7, 1982, and she survives. 

Don was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict stationed at Stuttgart, Germany.  He was a police officer with the Marion Police Department for 23 years from 1955 to 1978 and was the oldest living retiree.  After his retirement from the Police Department, he worked at the VA Hospital for 18 months, was a Security Guard at RCA for 5 years and then worked at Cubberley’s Distribution for 25 years. 

Don attended New Hope Baptist Church in Gas City and was a member of the F.O.P. since 1955 where he was Police Pension Secretary and also served on the Pension Board until his death. 

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Reagan of Marion; daughters, Annette Ziegler of Marion, Mary Beth (Dick) Wells of Marion and Wendy Reagan of Kentucky; step-daughter, Kathy (Allen) James of Marion; a sister, Myra Lee Carrico of Marion; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren.

Don was also preceded in death by a son, Wes Reagan; a daughter, Terrie Christie; a step-son, Paul Black; a sister, Alberta Gentry and grandson, Mark Tincher.

Friends and family may call from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church, 800 E. South “C” Street, Gas City, Indiana, and also one hour prior to funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the church.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 in the church with Chaplain Mark Bardsley officiating.

At Don’s request, cremation will follow funeral services with burial at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
