Jeffrey L. Achey

Jeffrey L. Achey, age 57, of Peru passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 in his home.

Jeffrey was born May 11, 1961 in Kokomo, Indiana the son of the late Richard Achey and Marilyn (MacMahon) Pearson.  He married Rhonda Redd on July 25, 1983, and she survives.

Jeffrey worked as a cook for the U.S. Army and the Knights of Columbus in Logansport.  He was a member of the East Pointe Bible Church in Peru and enjoyed going fishing.  He loved making birdhouses and feeders and enjoyed “bobbing” for catfish in the Wabash River.  In his younger years he had bowled on a church bowling league.  Jeffrey spent most of his free time reading his Bible and he adored his Lord Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Achey of Peru; two sons, Christopher Shawn Achey of California and Joshua Shane (Jessica) Achey of Bennetts Switch, Indiana; a brother, Richard (Deb) Achey of Peru; and six grandchildren, Ashlynn, Aleyah, Brody, Laine, Elizabeth and Shane.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Greg Achey and Tony Michael; and his step-father, Charles Pearson.

Friends and family may call from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the East Pointe Bible Church, 1540 E. Paw Paw Pike, Peru, Indiana.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with Pastors Jim Butler and Phil Bunce officiating.
