Joyce M. Harreld

Joyce M. (Owens) Harreld, age 79, of Marion went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2019 in her home.

Joyce was born September 4, 1939 in Keno, Kentucky the daughter of the late Shelvia and Linda (Roberts) Owens.  She married Richard Harreld on June 16, 1961, and he survives.

Joyce was a homemaker and a fierce lover and supporter of her children and grandchildren, they were her life.  She attended Liberty Baptist Church in Sweetser and loved reading her Bible and religiously read it every night before bed.  She enjoyed gardening and canning, and found great joy feeding the neighborhood kids and no one ever left her house hungry! 

She is survived by her husband, Richard Harreld of Marion; two sons, Donald R. (Susan) Riddle of Ft. Wayne and Harry Harreld of Warsaw; two daughters, Theresa D. (Russell) Sprong of Upland and Christine M. Harreld of Marion; two brothers, Lloyd Owens of Gas City and Charles (Anita) Owens of Marion; a sister-in-law, Linda Owens of Marion; 10 grandchildren, Amber, Melissa, Brandon, Jennifer, Haley, Jared, Autumn, Shylee, Caylee and Brad; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Coy Owens.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Visitation will also take place on Thursday, August 15, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Barry Earley officiating.

Burial will take place in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery in Marion immediately following funeral services.
