Lois V. Patterson

I lost my first forever best friend, my Mom, Lois V. (Streib) Patterson passed away July 22, 2018 at 11:15 a.m. at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, LaFontaine, Indiana.

Lois was born July 5, 1917 making her 101 years old.  Her parents were the late Oliver and Blanche (Renbarger) Streib.  She met Forrest (Pat) Patterson in the Little Symphony Orchestra and they were married October 15, 1939.  They were married 56 years, and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1995. 

Lois worked at SS Kresge Dime Store, Pat’s Grill in Jonesboro and the Knobby Grill.  She retired from Balls Store after 27 years in 1979.   She was always a fashion diva, hair done, nails done and her makeup on ready to go!  She was truly loved by all of her nieces and nephews and friends. 

Pat and Lois were members of the Winter Club that played Big Band sound through the winter months.  She went to Swayzee Street United Methodist Church as a young girl and was a member of First Friends Church being creative in her Circle.

She is survived by one daughter, Connie (John) Gill; 3 grandsons, Steven Carmichael, Bryan (Stacey) Carmichael and Aaron (Chris) Carmichael; 5 great-grandchildren, Bryna, Jasmine, Bradlee, Cassidy and Francis; and 3 great-great grandchildren, Norah, Kyndall & Nolder.

Lois was also preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Eugene (Betty) Streib and a sister and her husband, Mary Louise (Wayne) Huffman.

A special thanks to my sweet angels at Rolling Meadows for their loving hearts.  They are family taking care of family and to Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
