Marjorie L. Foreman

Marjorie L. Foreman, age 97 of Marion, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion.

Marjorie was born on September 24, 1922 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Garrison) Denton.  She married Bobby L. Foreman on March 24, 1947.  They were the owners and founders of Foreman & Son’s Marathon, which has been a family business since 1963. 

Marjorie was a devoted wife and loving mother to her sons.  She was a helper in the family business, an immaculate homemaker and a great cook.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and always had a listening ear.  She had a precious heart and we will miss her.  We were always welcomed to Mom’s with a Lazy-Susan full of various assortments of M&M’s!

She is survived by three sons, Dr. Robert (Mary Margaret) Foremen of W. Lafayette, Bill (Debbie) Foreman of Marion and John (Jeanie) Foreman of Marion; sisters-in-law, Marietta Austin of Ft. Wayne and Sandra Slater of Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Foreman; a son, Gregory Foreman; 4 brothers, Charles Denton, Pete Denton, Bill Denton and Paul Denton; and a sister, Mable Burgard.

Friends and family may call from Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Delmar Fenwick officiating.

Burial will be held immediately following funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children; or the Healing Heart Church of God, 2701 S. Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953.
