Mark Allen Dorsey

Mark Allen Dorsey, age 61, departed this life on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
Mark was born August 18, 1957 the son of the late Gus and Harriett (Shoecraft) Dorsey.
He married Dolah Huffaker on May 10, 1980 and they shared 38 wonderful years
together.

Mark worked for the State Highway Department and McCullough Middle School until he
retired several years ago. He was an evangelist and psalmist. He ministered in many
churches in Indiana and beyond. He was a long-time member of Allen AME Temple
Church. After retirement, Mark volunteered at McCullough Middle School with the
special needs children and at Big Brothers and Sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Dolah Dorsey of Marion; a son, Mark Dorsey of Marion and
his children, Seth, Makara and JayLee; brothers, Harry Dorsey of Greenville, MS,
William Dorsey (Rhonda) of Marion and Anthony Dorsey (Ruenlle) of Louisville, KY;
sisters, Janice Allen (Sonny) of Louisville, KY and Brenda Morrell (Robert) of Marion;
sisters-in-law, Mary Hogue (Henry) and their children, Shawn Hogue, James Hogue,
Shauna Hogue and Mary Laine Drake, all of Marion, Paula Gentner and her daughter,
Jasmine Genter (boyfriend, Cam Kendall and son, Tanner), all of Marion; and Sheila
Huffaker and her son, Tyler Humbles of Marion; brother-in-law, John E. Huffaker of
Charlotte, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Living
Water Apostolic Church, 732 S. Pennsylvania Street, Marion, Indiana. Pastor Robert
Morrell officiated.

Arrangements entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
