Neil A. Farr, Sr.

Neil A. Farr, Sr., age 83, passed away January 19, 2018.

He was born August 27, 1934 in Van Buren, Indiana the son of the late Neil and Reva (Allison) Farr.  He married Jean Mauldon on December 18, 1971, and she survives. 

Neil served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1955.  He was a pipefitter with Linneger in Marion for 18 years.  He then worked as a mechanical engineer in the aerodynamics division of General Motors Truck and Bus in Ft. Wayne for 25 years.

Neil was a member of the V.F.W., the Gas City Moose Lodge 1778; the American Legion Post 10, Marion; AMVETS #5; the Mizpah Shriners; Indiana Free Masonic Lodge #109 F&AM; Grant County Scottish Rite; High Twelve Past Masters Association; A.A.S.R.; Northern Masonic Jurisdiction.  He was a 32 degree Mason.  He loved to play golf and was a member of the U.S.G.A.  He enjoyed playing at Shady Hills and had 4 holes in one. 

Neil is survived by his wife, Jean Farr of Marion; sons, Neil A. (Jacquie) Farr, Jr. of Indiana, William Mauldon of Marion and Frank Boaz of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Shannon (Randy) Williams of Fairmount, and Jenny (Greg) Gardner of N. Webster, Indiana; brother, David Farr of Swayzee; sisters, Beverly (Richard) Fox of Sweetser; cousin, Nancy (Dan) Anthony of Pleasant Lake, Indiana; 8 grandchildren including William Lomely and family, Al Marin & family, Andria Mauldon & family, and Lisa Mauldon & family, all of Marion; and 5 great grandchildren.

There will be no funeral services as Neil wanted his body donated to medical research at IU.
