Paul E. Hisey

Paul E. Hisey, age 79, of Marion, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, February 5, 2018 at Marion General Hospital surrounded by his family.

Paul was born March 5, 1938 to the late Paul Hisey and Helen Smethers Kirby.  He was raised by his mother Helen and step-father, Robert “Pop” Kirby.  Paul was an Army veteran serving in Alaska from 1963 to 1969. 

He married Catha Evans and she survives.  Paul was a dispatcher for O.H. Huntline Trucking for 30 years until his retirement.

Paul was a very patriotic man and had donated to several veterans organizations over the years.  He loved motorcycles and in the 1950’s was a member of the Ace of Spades Motorcycle Club.  He loved watching wrestling, and old westerns and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.  He enjoyed collecting die-cast cars and motorcycles.  But, sitting on the porch in the sunshine reminiscing about the past and his family was one of his favorite things to do.  He had kept several mementos from his past and from his family reminding him of all of those fun times.  His grandchildren were his pride and joy. 

He is survived by his wife, Catha Hisey of Marion; two sons, Paul (Polly) Scott of Anderson, Indiana and Arlen (Lorinda) Scott of Marion, Indiana; two daughters, Tammy and Coco (Del) Garcia of Marion and Jody Baker of Marion; brother, Raymond Hisey of Marion; sister, Judy Branham of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, A.J., April, Rachel, Sara, Brandi, Courtney, Ashley and Tori; and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Karen Jones.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with his son-in-law, Del Garcia officiating. 

Burial and graveside services will be held in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
