Ramona Gail Lawson

Ramona Gail Lawson, age 76, of Marion passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Wesleyan Health & Rehabilitation Center in Marion.

Gail was born to Adalene and Clarence Thomason on May 6, 1942 in Marion, Indiana. She was the 6th of seven children!  She met and married the love of her life Albert Lawson on December 19, 1964.  They were married almost 50 years before his death on October 14, 2014.  They lived in Converse, Indiana for many years and made many life-long friends there.  They later moved to Marion. 

Gail worked as a waitress at the Dog & Suds for a few years and was a nanny to many children after that.  Gail loved to collect old movies and loved to listen to old records and gospel songs.  She had a knack for remembering dates and never forgot birthdates or anniversaries of those she loved.  She moved to Wesleyan Health Care in 2010 due to failing health, where she enjoyed being active in the activities there.  Gail did lots of crafts and especially enjoyed BINGO!!  She opened her home to many years of having Thanksgiving dinner for her family, especially her nieces and nephews, as she had no children of her own.

She leaves to mourn her passing, brother, Arthur “Jiggs” (Nona) Thomason; two sisters, Glenna Biven and Kay (Bob) Mauller.  She will be especially missed by many nieces and nephews who she always made time for.  She always had a smile for anyone she met and she made friends fast!  Gail will be missed by her loving family, but will be rejoicing with those that have preceded her!

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert, brothers, Marvin and Wayne Thomason and sister, Norma Adamson.

Friends and family may call from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Lewis Adamson officiating.

Burial will follow funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
