Scott A. Swaim, age 40, of Marion, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 in his home.

Scott was born October 16, 1976 in Marion, Indiana the son of Jeff Swaim and Debbie (Brooks) Swaim.  Scott worked at the Grant County Sheriff’s Department as a jailer for 4 years, and at Agricore as a skilled miller for 7 years.

He was an Eagle Scout with Troop #427.  He was an avid fan of the Colts and loved being outdoors, camping and fishing.  He loved spending time with his daughter and playing Texas Hold’em.

He is survived by his father, Jeff Swaim of Florence, S. Carolina; mother, Debbie Swaim of Marion; daughter, Kyla Swaim; sister, Holly Brooks of Marion; brother, Dean (Summer) Swaim of Georgia; paternal grandparents, Howard (Charlene) Swaim of Matthews; paternal grandmother, Lois Swaim of Marion; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from noon to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the New Life Community Church, 2011 W. 10th Street, Marion, Indiana.  Memorial Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David Grieve officiating.

Burial will take place immediately following the service in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.
