Aimee E. Carter, born on December 31, 1972, in Marion, Indiana, departed this world on February 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will echo in the hearts of all who knew her. Aimee was not just a property and home health aide with Res Care and Home Helpers; she was the embodiment of warmth and humor, a friend to all, and a beloved mother figure not only to her own children but to countless others who were graced by her vibrant spirit.
In her gentle yet exuberant manner, Aimee filled every room with laughter and light, her outgoing personality making it easy for anyone to be her friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her could attest to her remarkable ability to connect with others. She had a gift for bringing people together, and her legacy as “everyone’s mom” stands as a testament to her warmheartedness and generosity.
Aimee’s journey through life began at Marion High School, where she laid the foundations of her education before later earning her GED. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to caring for others, seamlessly balancing her role as a property manager with her unwavering commitment to her work as a home health aide. Her nurturing spirit made her an invaluable asset to those she served, but it was her vibrant laughter that truly enriched their lives.
Though life threw its share of challenges her way, Aimee found joy in many simple pleasures. She loved to craft—though she playfully acknowledged she rarely finished anything she started—and she enjoyed the thrill of embarrassing her children, especially Alaynee. Her passion for online auctions and live events was matched only by her love for attending concerts at the Honeywell Center with friends and family. Road trips were adventures that brought her endless joy, and she delighted in the small excitement of scratch-off lottery tickets, never forgetting to share a laugh over the anticipation of winning.
Aimee is survived by her devoted husband Christopher Carter, and two adoring daughters Alyssa (Matt) Eakins, Alaynee (Thomas) Swygart, and son, Justice (Wayne) McClure, who carry forward her legacy of love and laughter. She will be cherished by her brother Ronnie Thompson and sister Ashlee Wright, as well as her nephew Michael Thompson. Aimee revelled in the joy brought by her grandchildren Addi, Brantley, Ryder, Alivia, Lexington, and Rylynn, who were undoubtedly the light of her life. She held a special bond with friends Leah Woolsey, Stacie Timmons, and Sherry Fite, In-laws Debbie (Xen) Carter, whose lives were forever enriched by her presence. Additionally, she leaves behind several nieces and nephews, each of whom will remember her infectious spirit and unwavering support.
Aimee is preceded in death by her beloved father Ronald Thompson, mother Cathy Thompson, and two sons, Joshua and Isiah Thompson, grandparents Barbara and James Stewart, Rabert Haynes, Mary Richardson and Aunt Tammi Cunningham, whose memories live on in the hearts of her family.
Family and friends are invited to gather in Aimee’s memory during the visitation on February 23, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM, all taking place at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located in Marion, Indiana.
Aimee E. Carter leaves behind a vibrant tapestry of memories stitched together with love, laughter, and an irresistible personality that will forever touch the hearts of her family and friends.
