Anna Elizabeth Creviston Schenk, a devoted nurse, loving mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on November 13, 1932, in Van Buren, Indiana, Anna lived a life marked by dedication, compassion, and an enduring commitment to those around her.
Anna proudly served as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System for twenty-eight years until her retirement in 1992. Her compassion extended beyond her profession into her community and church involvement.
A faithful member of the Lutheran faith, Anna was a former member and council member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Marion, Indiana. She also played a significant leadership role at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Marion, where she served as both a member and council president. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her with strength and grace.
Anna was known for her many passions and talents, including cooking, camping and quilting.
Anna’s family was dear to her heart. She is survived by her son Ralph Dean Schenk and his wife Melinda, and her grandchildren Kevin Schenk, Craig Schenk and his wife Christina, Jessica Becraft and her husband Greg, Erika Rice and her husband Jeff, along with five great-grandchildren who carry forward her legacy of love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ralph Schenk, her son Christian Schenk, and granddaughter Kara Schenk-McCue.
Family and friends are invited to honor Anna’s memory at the Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Visitation will be held on April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This will be a time for all who knew Anna to come together and celebrate her extraordinary life and lasting impact.
Anna Elizabeth Creviston Schenk leaves behind a profound legacy of care, faith, and creativity. Her contributions to nursing, her church communities, and her family will be remembered with deep respect and affection. Her gentle spirit and dedicated heart will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
