Barry J. Compo, born on October 19, 1966, in Maion, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Maion, Indiana, on June 30, 2026. He was 59 years old.

Barry was a devoted son, father, brother, and grandfather, whose presence touched many lives. He is survived by his son, James Compo; his father, Forest Compo; his sisters, Debbie Nelson and Bonnie Stephenson; and his beloved grandsons, Thomas Compo and Ryan Lotz. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Compo.

Barry was known for his strong work ethic and commitment during his many years working at Chrysler. Colleagues remember him for his reliability, dedication, and willingness to support those around him.

Outside of his professional life, Barry had a passion for fishing, often finding peace and joy by the water’s edge. He also enjoyed working on and painting cars, a hobby that reflected his patience and attention to detail. Above all, Barry loved his children and grandchildren dearly, cherishing every moment spent with them and taking pride in their achievements and happiness.

Barry’s family wishes to extend special thanks to his friends who helped take care of him, demonstrating kindness and support that meant so much to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, IN 46952. Family, friends, and all who knew Barry are invited to honor his memory and reflect on the positive impact he had on those around him.

Barry J. Compo will be deeply missed, but the love and memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of all who knew and cared for him.
