Cheryl A. Preston

Cheryl A. Preston, a cherished member of the community and a devoted family member, passed away on May 16, 2025, at the Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marion, Indiana. She was born on April 24, 1949, in Brookville, Indiana, to Robert J. Weber and Marie Weber, both of whom preceded her in death.

Cheryl lived a life dedicated to service and her family. She was a loving mother to Brian Sloan and Mike (Inez) Sloan, and a supportive stepmother to Mark (Joyce) McKee. Cheryl took great pride in her role as a grandmother to Heather Oliver and a great-grandmother to Jaxon Aldridge, Alayna Sloan, and Layton Sloan.

Her professional journey included working as a homemaker, a secretary at Gas City United Methodist Church, and as a filing clerk at Grant Blackford Mental Health. Cheryl was devoted to her work and took every opportunity to serve those around her.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Cheryl was actively involved in various organizations, having been a member of the American Legion Post 95 Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the AmVets Post 5 Auxiliary. She also served as Sr. Regent at the Marion Moose Lodge, reflecting her commitment to community and fellowship.

Cheryl is survived by her sons, Brian and Mike (Inez) Sloan; stepson Mark (Joyce) McKee; granddaughter Heather Oliver; great-grandchildren Jaxon Aldrige, Alayna Sloan, and Layton Sloan; and siblings Rita Boeger, Joanne (Tom) Baker, Dennis (Carol) Weber, and Bill (Kay) Weber, alongside several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her grandson Mitchell Sloan, her stepson Mike McKee, and her sister Diane Feller, all of whom will be lovingly remembered.

A visitation in her honor will take place on May 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 1:00 PM, both at the Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home located at 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, IN 46952.

Cheryl Preston will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her community, and the numerous lives she touched throughout her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
