Christy L. Peer, a beloved member of the Marion community, passed away on June 17, 2026, in Huntington, Indiana. Born on May 3, 1972, in Marion, Indiana, Christy lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a love for simple pleasures that brought joy to herself and those around her.
Christy was a devoted employee in the shoe department at Wal-Mart, where she worked faithfully for twenty years. Her commitment to her job reflected a strong work ethic and a friendly spirit that resonated deeply with colleagues and customers alike. She cherished her role and formed many valued relationships throughout her tenure.
A graduate of Marion High School’s class of 1990, Christy embraced learning and nurtured a lifelong passion for reading. Her leisure hours were often spent immersed in books, an activity she treasured deeply. Christy also enjoyed engaging in a spirited game of BINGO and was a keen viewer of television shows, particularly "Survivor" and various cooking programs. Her enthusiasm for these interests highlighted her vibrant personality and provided countless moments of happiness.
Christy is survived by her beloved Guardian Angel, Davina Hamaker; her brother, Doug Peer; her nephew, Jaden Peer; and her nieces, Kristin Peer and Alisha Peer. She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins, who will carry fond memories of her kindness and gentle nature.
Christy was preceded in death by her father, Walter Peer, and her mother, Pamela Peer. Their memories remain a cherished part of her life story.
Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her enduring spirit and the many lives she touched will not be forgotten. Christy L. Peer will be remembered for her generous heart, steadfast dedication, and the quiet joy she found in life’s everyday moments.
