Claude “CW” Lyons, age 78, passed away Monday morning January 23, 2017 in his Marion home.
He was born January 15, 1939 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Claude and Dorothy (Coyle) Lyons. He married Rebecca Humes on July 12, 1969, and she survives.
CW was a machine attendant at RCA for 36 years, retiring in 2000. He was a former member of the Huntington Eagles Lodge, the Ft. Wayne VNEA Billiards League and the Grant County Billiards Association. He had a passion for pool and over the years had won several National Pool Tournaments. CW especially loved to fish, hunt, and hunt mushrooms. He also enjoyed playing poker and was an avid bird watcher.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Lyons of Marion; son, Mark Lyons of Marion; two daughters, Shanda Williams of Daleville and Meg Wampner (Kevin) of Marion; brother, John Lyons (Lana) of Owingsville, Kentucky; sister, Betty Barber of Owingsville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Haley Mullenix, Tyler Morgan, Destiny Lawson, Trey Lawson, Ciera Wampner, Colton Wampner, Ayden Wampner, and Shatashia Williams; great-grandchildren, Madison and Mason Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in Kentucky; his many fellow billiard players; and his fuzzy, four-legged buddy and companion, “Miley Moo”.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 in Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. A Memorial Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E. 91st Street, #100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240; or to Durkes Animal Hospital, 1021 E. St. Road 18, Marion, Indiana 46952.
