Elizabeth H. Vershaw, age 97 of Marion passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion.
Elizabeth was born on January 10, 1923 in Kokomo, Indiana the daughter of the late Cashus and Ruth E. (Dean) Adams. She married Thomas Vershaw on September 8, 1943, and he preceded her in death in October 1997.
Elizabeth was an LPN and Operating Room Tech at Marion General Hospital and had also worked for Dr. Wilson and Dr. Jesch. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society and the Women of The Moose in Marion.
She is survived by two daughters, Ronda Gallagher and Elizabeth “Rena” (Ronald) Timmons, both of Marion; grandchildren, Frank Walters, John Walters, Jeff Walters, Aaron (Kimberly) Wright, Jasen (Heather) Wright, Justin Vershaw, Stacie (Ollie) Timmons, Brian (Carrie) Gallagher and Laura Gallagher; 17 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Walters; a brother, Thomas Adams; a sister, Rebecca Croddy; son-in-law, Richard Gallagher; and a grandson, Christin Wright.
Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Visitation will also take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ted Rothrock officiating.
Burial will immediately follow in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
Due to the Governor’s continued COVID-19 restrictions, masks will be required at the funeral home and the church and social distancing is suggested.
