Jay A. Walters, born on May 26, 1958, in Canfield, Ohio, passed away on September 22, 2025, in LaFontaine, Indiana. He was a dedicated truck driver, known for his service with RCA/Thompson and later XPO Logistics (formerly CCX/Conway), where he worked diligently to support his family.
Jay was a man of great character and unwavering dedication. He cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Walters; his devoted mother, Nancy Anthonsen; his daughter, Shannon (Tyler) Economan; his son, Travis (Staci Devine) Stickann; and his dear siblings, Betsy (Eli) Andjelich, Julie (Brian) Nitchener, and Susan (Pat) Sigler. He also leaves behind five treasured grandchildren: Dylan Gallaway, Gage Stickann, Brody Stickann, Beau Economan, and Mila Economan, who brought immense joy to his life.
In addition to his professional achievements and family devotion, Jay was a member of the Elks Lodge and Country Club, where he developed a true passion for golf. An avid golfer, he proudly accomplished the feat of achieving three holes in one throughout his lifetime.
Jay is preceded in death by his father, Edwin Walters, and Step-Father, Dale Anthonsen.. His memory will be lovingly preserved by all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on September 26, 2025, at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home in Marion, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Jay A. Walters will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and love.
