Joseph E. Stambaugh, a dedicated Maintenance Technician at Essex Wire who devoted thirty-eight years to his career, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, in Marion, Indiana. Born on July 11, 1935, in Converse, Indiana, Joseph lived a life marked by loyal service, community involvement, and cherished family connections.
Throughout his career at Essex Wire, Joseph’s work ethic and commitment were exemplary, earning him the respect of his colleagues and the broader community. Beyond his professional achievements, he was an active member of the Gas City Moose Lodge #1778 and proudly recognized in the Bowler Hall of Fame in Marion, Indiana—testaments to his spirited participation in his hobbies and interests.
Joseph’s life was enriched by his family, who stood by him through all seasons. He is survived by his beloved children, Constance (Gene) York, Joseph (Emma) Stambaugh, Robert Stambaugh, and Daniel Stambaugh. His legacy also lives on through his fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his later years.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Martha Stambaugh, whose memory he honored until her passing in January 2019. He also mourned the loss of his daughter Katherine Stambaugh and 6 brothers and 2 sisters, whose absence is deeply felt.
A visitation to honor Joseph’s life will be held on April 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road in Marion, Indiana. Pastor Andrew Morrell will officiate. Following this, a funeral service will take place at the same location at 1:00 p.m.
Joseph E. Stambaugh’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His steadfast presence, dedication to family, and community involvement stand as enduring marks of a life well lived. He will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who were fortunate to know him.
