June L. Robbins, a cherished member of the Marion community and a devoted family matriarch, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, in her hometown of Marion, Indiana. Born on April 8, 1932, in Marion, she spent her life deeply rooted in the values and spirit of this community she so dearly loved.
June’s professional life was marked by her dedicated service to Marion Community Schools, where she contributed significantly before retiring. Even after her retirement, she remained actively engaged in public service through her work at the Grant County Recorder’s and Auditor’s office, reflecting her commitment to her community and its governance.
Beyond her career, June was a vibrant individual who embraced life with warmth and creativity. A proud member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge #35, she delighted in a range of hobbies that showcased her artistic talents and loving patience—crochet, knitting, artwork, sewing, and quilting. These crafts were expressions of June’s generous spirit, often shared with others in her community.
Her faith and service were paramount in her life as a dedicated member of the Twin City Bible Baptist Church. June’s altruistic heart found joyful expression through the Smile Seekers Clown Ministry, where she was affectionately known as "Sweet Cheeks," the Clown. Her presence was a source of happiness and comfort to many, embodying her lifelong joy in interacting with people and bringing smiles to their faces.
June is survived by her beloved children, Bruce (Mary) Robbins and Sandra (Mark) Kinner; her granddaughter Brandy (Michael Ray) Lusby; her grandson Scott (Rhonda Smith) Robbins; great-granddaughters Brittney (Cletus Jones) Watkins and Christine Watkins; great-great-grandsons Izzick Firebaugh, Elijah Firebaugh, Landyn Firebaugh, Jayceon Jones; great-great-granddaughter October Goodwin; and several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Honey. Her loving family stands as a testament to a life well-lived and deeply loved.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Wayne Robbins, who passed away July 3, 2005; her parents, Homer and Edna Edwards; and her brothers, George, Clarence and Bernard Edwards.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on April 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road in Marion, Indiana. A funeral service will follow immediately, commencing at 12:00 p.m., concluding at 1:00 p.m., held at the same location.
June L. Robbins’s life was a rich tapestry of love, community service, and creative spirit. Her legacy endures in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she touched with kindness, laughter, and grace. She will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by all who had the privilege to know her.
