Kathleen "Kathy" S. Roth, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at her residence in Marion, Indiana, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on July 17, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kathy lived a life rich in love, laughter, and hard work.
As a devoted production worker at RCA and United Technologies, Kathy was known for her strong work ethic, earning respect and admiration throughout her career. Her dedication was evident, and her commitment did not stop there; she continued to work part-time at Jimmy Johns, illustrating her endless zeal for life.
Kathy was not just a diligent worker but also a woman with vibrant interests and hobbies that made her who she was. She delighted in all kinds of music, often attending concerts that brought her joy. Family cookouts were a special occasion for Kathy, where love and laughter filled the air alongside the savory aromas of her cooking. An avid sports fan, she passionately supported the San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, and followed NASCAR, cheering for her favorite driver, Tony Stewart. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious and brought warmth to everyone around her.
Kathy's proudest accomplishments reflected her caring spirit. She was a Certified First Responder at RCA, a testament to her desire to help others and contribute positively to her community. She was known as a hardworking woman who held her family dear to her heart.
She is survived by her special friend, Charles Newsom; her sons, Randall (Erika Bronzini) King and Jeffrey (Dusty) McFarren; her bonus son, Kris Gorrell; and her brother Rick Phillips. Kathy also leaves behind her brothers, John (Christa) Phillips, and her sister Patricia (Tom) Perez, along with six loving grandchildren: Randall King, Christian Bennett, Hadden (Mikayla) Snyder, Taylor King, Nicholas McFarren, and Zanna McFarren. Her family was further blessed with four great-grandchildren: Greyson McFarren, Nadia McFarren, Katara King, and Ivy King, who were the light of her life.
Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends, but she is preceded in death by her parents, Earl (Margaret) Phillips, her brothers Mike and Jerry Phillips, and her sister Vicki Phillips. Their legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew Kathy.
Visitation will be held on August 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
In her passing, Kathy leaves behind not just memories, but an everlasting love that will continue to enrich the lives of those she touched. Her kind spirit and dedication to family will always be remembered, making her a true gem in the hearts of many.
