Linda Kay Turner, a cherished homemaker and beloved member of the Marion community, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in LaFountaine, Indiana. Born on March 18, 1944, in Marion, Indiana, Linda dedicated her life to her family and to the warm, nurturing spirit that defined her home.
Throughout her life, Linda was known for her exceptional culinary talents, a legacy she lovingly shared during countless family gatherings. She was renowned for cooking dinner every Sunday and on holidays, filling her home with the comforting aromas of homemade meals that brought family and friends together. Her homemade apple pie became a treasured tradition, as did her delightful fudge and candy, which she generously distributed during festive seasons. These memories stand as a testament to her loving nature and her commitment to creating joyous moments for those around her.
Linda was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 227 Aerie in Marion and the Marion Elks Lodge and Country Club. Her involvement in these organizations reflected her warm spirit and her desire to contribute positively to her community.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Dawn (John) Becker, Liz Hipes, and Ervin (Diane) Turner Jr., who hold dearly to the values and love she instilled in them. Linda's family circle extends joyfully to seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched profoundly. She is survived by her sister, Sheryl Osborne, who shares in mourning the loss of a remarkable sister and friend.
Linda's passing also marks the reunion with cherished family members who preceded her in death: her beloved husband, Ervin Turner Sr.; her parents, Clinton and Glendora Sprong; her son, Troy Turner; and her sisters Clara Patton, Judith Blessing, and Billy Gause. Their memories, intertwined with Linda’s own, remain a beacon of strength and love for those who knew her.
Visitation for Linda Kay Turner will be held on April 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. The funeral service will follow immediately, commencing at 1:00 p.m. and concluding at 2:00 p.m. at the same venue.
Linda Kay Turner’s life was a tapestry of devotion, kindness, and community spirit. Her presence enriched the lives of all she met, and her legacy lives on through the family she so dearly loved and the friendships she so deeply valued. She will be remembered with profound respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know her. May she rest in peace.
