It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael F. Schadler, a devoted man of faith and family, who left us on June 7, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on November 17, 1952, in Hamilton, Ohio, Michael lived a life marked by dedication to his work, community, and loved ones.
Michael served as a voice and video engineer at Taylor University, where his expertise and commitment were highly valued. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a man profoundly rooted in his faith, known as a prayer warrior whose spiritual strength touched many.
His passions extended to woodworking, a craft he enjoyed deeply. Michael also found great joy in playing golf alongside his father-in-law, Glenn Futrell, forging cherished moments together. His love for sports was evident through his engagement in coaching Little League baseball and supporting youth through the PAL Club. As a member of Maple Run Friends Church, he was actively involved in the “Your Friends Closet” outreach ministry, embodying a spirit of service and compassion that inspired those around him.
Michael’s heart was fullest when he was watching his grandchildren — Lydia, Callie, Ella, Ethan, Tallie, Margaux, Caz, Isabel, and Chael "Michael" — participate in sports and various activities. He also held a special fondness for the Little League World Series, often following the excitement with enthusiasm.
He leaves behind a loving family that will continue to carry forward his legacy: his wife Brenda Schadler; his children, Scott (Jennifer) Shaffer, Brooke (Nathan) Hundt, and Justin (Melinda) Schadler; his siblings, David (Teresa) Schadler, Karen (David) Pinkston, and Cindy Hohman; as well as nine cherished grandchildren. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Shirley Schadler, and by his brothers-in-law Kem Futrell and Mike Hohman.
