Sandy K. Binnion

Sandy K. Binnion, formerly of Converse, a fun-loving spirit whose laughter and warmth brightened every room she graced, passed away on August 21, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Peru, Indiana. Born on September 4, 1956, also in Peru, Sandy’s journey was one painted in vibrant hues of love, resilience, creativity, and joyful remembrance.

From the moment Sandy arrived in the world, she brought an effervescence that never waned. Her youthful curiosity blossomed into a wonderful knack for crafts, and she delighted in creating beauty with her hands—a gift she shared with those around her, most especially her grandchildren. Sandy’s eyes sparkled whenever she spoke of spending time with her grandchildren. These treasured moments—filled with stories, laughter, and creativity—are cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of her family.

Sandy’s love for adventure found its greatest expression in her affection for the Smokie Mountains. Visits to Gatlinburg became a beloved tradition, each trip marked by discovery, wonder, and the making of unforgettable memories. The mountains called to her soul, offering peace and joy in equal measure, and leaving an indelible impression on all who journeyed there with her.

In every sphere of her life, Sandy was known for her fun-loving nature. She infused even the simplest gatherings with joy, ensuring that family occasions, big or small, were brimming with laughter and warmth. Her presence was a source of comfort, her wit infectious, and her compassion boundless.

Sandy’s legacy lives on through her children: Larry Binnion, Lonnie Binnion, Michael Binnion, and Melissa Perkins. Her family chain continues with her beloved grandchildren: Kaylee (Kraig) Shafer, Paxton Binnion, Mercedes (Lucas) Carson, and Tiffany Fuqua. The next generation, her great-grandchildren—Allison, Chase, Kaiara, Mya, Walker, Maverick, LJ, and Autumn—carry forward her spark, as do her siblings: brother John (Linda) Conliff Jr., and sisters Katrina (Gary) Exmeyer, and Cynthia (Rick) Winters, along with several nieces and nephews.

Sandy was welcomed into eternity by those who went before her: her father, John Conliff Sr.; mother, Betty Conliff; daughter Michelle Binnion; sister Pamela Trueblood; grandson Evan Binnion; and granddaughter Ashley Binnion. Though her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, her memory will remain vibrant and strong in the hearts of everyone blessed to know her.

A visitation to celebrate Sandy’s life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., at the same location. Friends and loved ones are invited to join in remembrance and gratitude for a life so joyfully lived.
