Shirley D. Lostutter, a devoted homemaker and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in her hometown of Marion, Indiana. Born on September 30, 1935, in Marion, Shirley’s life was deeply rooted in the places and people she loved.

A proud graduate of Marion High School’s class of 1953, Shirley’s lifelong connection to her alma mater extended beyond her own education, as she was an avid supporter of Marion High School sports. Her enthusiasm for athletics extended to her passionate following of the Bears, Colts, and Cubs, reflecting her spirited approach to life and her community.

Shirley was a faithful attendee of the First Church of God in Marion, where she found strength and fellowship. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life and provided comfort through the years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Lostutter, who passed away on May 1, 2017, as well as her parents, Vernon and Garnet Lewis, her sister Pat Stanley, and her brother Bill Lewis. These family ties shaped much of Shirley’s journey and remain a testament to the close-knit bonds she treasured.

Surviving Shirley is her devoted daughter, Debbie Shields, and son, Michael Lostutter. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, Kristin Shields and Kala Huerter (Nathan), who in turn brought joy through five great-grandchildren. Additionally, her brother, Paul Lewis, along with Anita Lewis, shares in the memory of Shirley’s enduring spirit.

The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate Shirley’s life at the Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana 46952. Visitation will be held on April 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow on April 28, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.

Shirley’s legacy is one of warmth, dedication, and spirited devotion to her family and community. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her and those who carry forward the values she so dearly held. She will be profoundly missed, remembered with love and deep respect by all whose lives she touched.
