Timothy John Dayton, a man cherished for his humor, loving nature, and unyielding dedication, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in Marion, Indiana. Born on February 21, 1957, in Kokomo, Indiana, Tim lived a life marked by hard work, a practical joke spirit, and a deep commitment to those he loved. Tim was a graduate of Kokomo High School and furthered his education at Ivy Tech. His life was a vibrant tapestry woven with varied interests and hobbies. He was a proud a band dad. He found joy in camping, attending dog shows, car shows—particularly those featuring Mustangs—and tractor pulls. He also loved farming, gardening, and canning vegetables. He had a passion for cooking, specifically making pumpkin pies. Tim also treasured traveling and creating lasting memories.
His personality was a blend of humor, love, and unwavering diligence, traits that endeared him to all who knew him. Those fortunate enough to experience his company remember his distinctive laugh and his quiet, steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. Tim was trustworthy, compassionate, and loyal, known for his readiness to give the shirt off his back to help others. His proudest accomplishments were being a devoted husband and father, roles in which he excelled with remarkable grace and dedication.
Tim is lovingly survived by his wife, Barbara Dayton, and his daughters, Elizabeth (Shawn) Rector and Andrea (Quinn) Powel. He also leaves behind cherished cousins Allen (Judy) McKinney and Bridget McKinney, a special friend Jessie Robertson, and his beloved dog, Pepper. His family’s circle is enriched by his memory and the love he shared with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Dayton, as well as his special aunt and uncle, Lena and Eddie Bryant, whose memories remain alive in the hearts of all who loved him.
A visitation will be held on April 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, located at 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana 46952. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the remarkable life of Timothy Dayton. Pastor Matthew Trexler will officiate.

Tim Dayton’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and dedication—a true testament to a life well lived and a soul deeply loved. His memory will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
