Vivian Marie Anderson

Vivian Marie Anderson (nee VanGordon), age 95, formerly of Marion, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Joanne’s House, located in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Vivian was born August 28, 1930, in Hartford City, Indiana to the late James and Zona (nee Edwards) VanGordon. She married the late Robert Valjean Anderson on October 6, 1950.

She is survived by her five children, R. Vincent Anderson (Lois) of Union, Michigan, ValRae M. Hills (James) of Sugarland, Texas, R. Valjon Anderson (Brenda) of Bonita Springs, Florida, R. Vaughn Anderson (Patti) of Leesburg, Virginia, and R. VanGordon Anderson (Mary) of Leesburg, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Once married to Valjean, Vivian became a full-time homemaker and mother. She enjoyed teasing, joking, sewing, baking, puzzling, bicycling, bowling, and square dancing.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 22, 2026, at Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. until services at noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
