Anita L. Hughes

Anita L. Hughes, age 74 of Marion was promoted to Heaven on Tuesday morning, November 17, 2020 in her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.

Anita was born on December 9, 1945 in Huntington, Indiana the daughter of the late Donald and Oval (Harrell) Scott.  She married Douglas Hughes on June 14, 1964.

Anita was a homemaker and beautician and had enjoyed going to several assisted living places and doing their hair.  She was a member of the New Life Community Church and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and babysitting her grandchildren.  She also loved quilting and making special quilts for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas Hughes of Marion; a son, Anthony (Beth) Hughes of Seeley Lake, Montana; two daughters, Rikki Whitton-Bailey (Mark) of Marion and April Villies of Pickerington, Ohio; a brother, Jim Stinson of LaFontaine; a sister, Linda Riggs of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Visitation will also take place from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 in the funeral home with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David Grieve officiating.

Burial will immediately follow funeral services in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion (Huntington County), Indiana.
