Barbara Ellen Hacker

Barbara Ellen Hacker, age 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022 in Tennessee.

Barbara was born September 17, 1934 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of the late Frank and Sarah (Moriarity) Bennett. 

Barbara was a graduate of Marion High School,  She then earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing at Marion College, and her Master’s degree in nursing at Case Western.  Barbara married Edward E. Hacker and they were married for 48 years.  She retired from the VA Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.  Barbara enjoyed her work, musicals and was an avid reader. 

She is survived by sons, Steve (Chris) Hacker, Randal (Sheri) Hacker, and Michael Hacker; and grandchildren, Desire’ Hacker, David Hacker, and Kathleen “Katie” Hacker.

Barbara was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Hacker and her husband, Edward Hacker.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.

Burial will follow funeral services in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion (Huntington County), Indiana.
