Douglas A. Hughes

Douglas A. Hughes, age 81 of Marion passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Bradenton, Florida.

Doug was born on April 27, 1940 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Harold and Bernadene (Antrobus) Hughes.  He married Anita Scott on June 14, 1964, and she preceded him in death on November 17, 2020. 

Doug worked in production at Untied Technologies until his retirement.  He enjoyed cutting wood, hunting and fishing. Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a son, Anthony (Beth) Hughes of Seeley Lake, Montana; two daughters, Rikki Whitton-Bailey (Mark) of Marion and April Villies of Pickerington, Ohio; two brothers, James Hughes of Portland, Oregon and Paul David Hughes of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Viewing will also take place from 11:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, October 30, 2021 in the funeral home prior to funeral services.  Funeral Services will begin at Noon with Pastor Tom Ballard and Pastor David Grieve officiating.

Burial will follow funeral services in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion (Huntington Co.), Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grant County Rescue Mission, 423 S. Gallatin Street #1937, Marion, Indiana 46953.
