Frederick Joe Clawson

Frederick Joe Clawson, age 84, of Marion, passed away at noon Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marion.

Frederick was born January 26, 1938 in Lafayette, Indiana to Fred and Helen (Briggs) Clawson of Flora, Indiana.  He graduated from High School in Flora, Indiana, and then earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Pharmacy School at Purdue University.    He was an Army Veteran.

He retired from Hook’s Pharmacy after 30 years and later worked at the VA Hospital Pharmacy.  He enjoyed helping Veterans.  He was a member of the Evening Exchange Club for many years enjoying the friendship of many special members.  He is also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. 

He married Rosemary Litkenhus in July of 1965.  They were blessed with three children, Michaelle Thixton, Melanie Dolak and Scott Clawson.  He loved spending time with his four granddaughters, Sydney and Sophie Thixton, and Elanor and Agatha Dolak.  He loved watching Purdue football and basketball games and was a loyal fan.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.   A Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Visitation will also take place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana prior to the funeral mass.  Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ted Rothrock officiating.  Burial will follow Mass in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
