John "Jack" Hutchison Obituary

Surrounded by his family, John Wayne Hutchison passed away on October 6, 2021. Jack’s life was full of love, family, and dear friends.

Jack was born in Mulberry, Indiana on July 25, 1948 to Kenny and Peg Hutchison. He was the oldest of eight siblings.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force.

He touched countless lives as the tough bartender turned owner of Don’s Tap, where his fish is famously known around Marion and beyond; and is where he also met his wife Pam.  He loved to take his family camping, traveling with his wife, fishing in Canada, and most especially loved the beach.  He was a fierce fan of the Indianapolis Colts, the Marion Giants and the Purdue Boilermakers.  His loyalty of the Colts can be traced back all the way to their first day in Indianapolis when he bought season tickets and did so every following year to date.  Jack also enjoyed bowling with Pam and his friends in the Phil Lowe Tavern League at Crest Lanes for several years.  While he had a tough exterior, all those who knew him knew the tenderness of his heart.  Jack was extremely giving, especially to his daughters and grandchildren who he loved deeply. It’s hard to put into words just how deeply Jack impacted the lives of his family and the community here in Marion.  To say he will be greatly missed is an understatement.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pamela Hutchison of Marion, Indiana; his daughters, Teresa Hutchison of Marion, Indiana, Jennifer (Jason) Camery of Marion, Indiana, Kelley Cook of Lafayette, Indiana, and Christine Radawski of Indianapolis, Indiana; his siblings, Patricia (Clarence) Murphy of Port St Lucie, Florida, Mary (Kevin) Majeski of Toms River, New Jersey, Margaret (Ed) McMonagle of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kathleen Gibbons of Port St Lucie, Florida, and Joseph (Josie) Hutchison of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandchildren, Megan Camery, Sidney Camery, Luke (Sarah) Camery, Joseph Hutchison, Jacoby Drayton, Vanessa Pritchett, Tony Cook, and Evan Radawski; his great-granddaughter, Audhya Drayton; and many beloved nieces and nephews.  Jack is also survived by his dedicated employees and loyal customers at Don’s Tap.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny and Peg (Thomas) Hutchison, and his brothers, Thomas and Peter Hutchison.
