Mardena "Grace" Mitchell

Mardena “Grace” Mitchell, age 100 of Marion died Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center in LaFontaine, Indiana.

Grace was born on March 12, 1922 in Willis, Oklahoma.   She married George “Bruce” Mitchell in 1941, and served as an executive secretary with the Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita, Kansas.  She and Bruce lived around the Midwest before retiring to Rogers, Arkansas, and eventually settling in Marion, Indiana.  Grace enjoyed growing flowers, and was an accomplished seamstress. 

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; her parents Sid and Ella Johnson; and three brothers. 

She is survived by sons, Kenny Mitchell of Marion, and Royce (Jan) Mitchell of Fishers; grandchildren, Mindee Mitchell-Brown of Colorado, Luke Mitchell of Marion, Jenna Mitchell of Colorado Springs, Jack and Ana Mitchell of Shaker Heights, Ohio; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 11 at Estates of Serenity Cemetery, 2225 S. Lincoln Blvd., Marion, Indiana.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Woodland Hills Church of Christ, 2718 Wabash Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46952 where Grace was a member; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
