Paul D. (Sr.) Layman

Paul D. Layman, Sr., age 88 of Swayzee passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in his home.

Paul was born July 3, 1933 in Competition, Missouri the son of the late Edward and Blanche (Lue) Layman.  He married Ondrea “ Onnie”  Briggs on December 31, 2005, and she survives. 

Paul worked in the tool crib at General Motors until his retirement in 2000 after 44 years.  He was an Air Force Veteran and a member of the AMVETS Post 5 in Marion; the American Legion Post 317 in Greentown; the 40&8 Kokomo #1103; the V.F.W. Post 1152 Kokomo; the Legion Riders Post 6; ABATE, and the N.R.A.  He was also a former volunteer at the VA in Marion.

He is survived by his wife, Onnie Briggs; a son, Paul (Donna) Layman, Jr.; daughters, Coral Layman and Paula Hensley-Katz (Bob); and two grandchildren, Justin and Brandon Hensley. 

He was also preceded in death by his wife Joyce Layman and 11 sisters and brothers.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at Noon.

Burial will follow funeral services in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
