Peggy J. Floor

Peggy J. Floor passed away early on November 18, 2021, in the company of her family with peace and love, a testament of how she lived her life. At eighty-nine, her long life will be remembered as one of spreading love and friendship.

Born on October 5, 1932 in Peru, Indiana to the late Georgetta Correll Floor Landgrave and Gaylord Floor, Peggy graduated from Peru High School in 1950. She was a dedicated worker at B. Walter and Co. of Wabash, for 57 years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, canning, picking strawberries, hunting for mushrooms, Sudoku, singing, traveling, and Doris Day movies.

The heart of Peggy’s life was her family. Her lasting legacy includes her girls, R. Kay Guinen, Kimberly Schell, Deni Schofield, and Brenda Koughn (Deceased) and her cherished sisters Carolyn Langan, Judy Blackman, Jackie Waite, and Rhonda Rathbun. Her brother Gaylord Floor, and sisters Joyce Shepherd, and Norma Bernard preceded her in death.

In a world that too often defines a successful life by physical structures left behind, Peggy’s lasting legacy will be the loving, positive effect she had on everyone she met — an heirloom that will remain long after concrete crumbles. Her loving and giving manner will live on in those who knew her well. She proved the adage that family is truly defined by those whom you love and love you.

Instead of flowers, her family requests donations be made to the Food Pantry via the LaFountaine UMC 2 W Kendall St. PO Box 57, LaFontaine, IN 46940.  Annotate the donation is for the Food Pantry in honor of Peggy Floor.

A Celebration of Life is being planned.

Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.
