Rheba Whitlock Obituary

Rheba J. Whitlock, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Rheba was born on June 26, 1922, in Sweetser, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clyde and Elsie (Kirk) Mitchell.  

Following her graduation from Sweetser High School in 1940, Rheba worked for the Dana Corporation in Marion.  She married Robert Whitlock in 1955, and he preceded her in death in January 2017.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Berndean Mitchell; and two sisters, Bonnie Himelick and Billie Eaton.

Bob and Rheba had two children, Beth Ellen McAtee (Kerry) of Ft. Wayne, and Todd Mitchell Whitlock (Carol) of Bloomington.  They also had grandchildren, Clay McAtee, Anna Smith (Michael), Thomas Whitlock, Anne Whitlock, Courtney Ladyman, Katie Ladyman, and Brian Ladyman.

Rheba was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, various Bible studies, Kappa Kappa Kappa, Delphian Study Club, and several bridge clubs during her many wonderful years as a Marion resident.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Temple Congregational Church, 1006 N. Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46952; or to Stillwater Hospice, 5910 Homestead Road, Ft. Wayne, Indiana 46814.

Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion (Huntington Co.), Indiana with Pastor Jeff Jahn officiating.
