Roberta A. (Richard) Thompson

Roberta A. (Richard) Thompson, age 39 of Marion received her wings in the Glory Land on June 14, 2021 at Marion General Hospital.

Roberta was born on August 12, 1981 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of Robert A. Richard, Sr. and Tonetta (Wesley) Richard.  She married Larry D. Thompson on November 9, 2011 and he survives.

Roberta loved to sing, dance, listen to music, roller skate, creating drawing fashion and had a new love for painting.  She was a member of the Jesus Fellowship Family Church in Marion, and loved to share her love for Jesus and all that He had done for her.    She was very active member of her church with the dining committee and the praise team.  Roberta was a strong young lady that never complained and gave her all and was an inspiration to all that knew her.  She was a “Great Ball of Sunshine” that loved gathering her family together.  She also loved to travel and go on cruises.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Larry D. Thompson, Jr. of Marion; her father, Robert A. Richard, Sr. of Marion; a sister, Aisha Richard of Marion; brother, Robert Richard Jr. ; father-in-law, Larry D. Thompson, Sr.; niece, Avari Richard of Marion; nephew Jay-Qwaun Richard of Marion; grandmother, Joan Reeves of Marion; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Tonetta L. Richard; grandparents, Clyde and Rebecca Richard; great-grandparents, Harice and Alberta Reeves; great-grandmothers, Lucille Williams and Leora Ollie; and an uncle, Eddie Earl Richard.

Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Jesus Fellowship Family Church, 221 S. Adams Street, Marion, Indiana .   Private family services will follow with Pastors Jeremy Taylor and Stanford Bolden officiating.  Cremation will take place following funeral services.
