Rose Marie Purvis

Rose Marie Purvis, age 69 of Marion passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel, Indiana.

Rose was born on December 2, 1951 in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Robert and Bertie (Friley) Riley.  She married her childhood sweetheart, Richard Purvis and they shared many years and memories together.   Rose was a hairdresser for many years.

Rose is survived by her husband, Richard Purvis of Marion; a son, John Purvis of Indianapolis; a brother, Bob (Brenda) Riley of Sharpsburg, Kentucky; a sister, Louise Curran of Nicholas County, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Darlene Riley of Kendallville; lots of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her fur babies.

She was also preceded in death by siblings, Ida (Tony) Dindo, John (Whanda) Riley, George (Jeanette) Riley, Carolyn “Jeanette” (Earl) Purvis, Delora “Skip” (Frank) Monroe and Harry Riley.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to their special neighbor and friend, Sirja Filgueira who was a great help to the family during her illness. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society, 505 S. Miller Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953.
