Sharon J. Riddle

Sharon J. Riddle, age 84 of Gas City passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in her daughter’s home.

Sharon was born on May 3, 1936 in Sullivan, Indiana the daughter of the late Wayne Thomas and Evelyn Mae (Akers) Secrest. 

Sharon married her high school sweetheart, James E. Riddle on July 6, 1957, and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2016.  She was a clerk at the Child Support Office for the Grant County Prosecutor.  Sharon was a former member of the Grace United Methodist Church. 

She enjoyed bowling when she was younger at Crest Lanes in Marion and going for walks with her dog, Molly and pushing her on the walker.  She loved to travel especially to Hawaii.  One of her favorite things to do was going shopping and she would always “out shop” all of the kids and grandkids!   She also enjoyed planting flowers, watching the hummingbirds and going line dancing.  Sharon loved staying involved in her class reunions to keep them going, and working Sudoku and crossword puzzles. 

She is survived by a son, Jeff Riddle of Indianapolis; a daughter, Pam Garrison of Gas City; a granddaughter, Carla (Elvin) Jackson of Marion; and one great-grandson, Isaiah Thompson.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, James Secrest.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.  Funeral Services will begin at Noon with Reverend Tom Mansbarger officiating.

Burial will take place following services at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
