Susan J. Richey

Susan J. Richey, age 73 of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, October 05, 2021 in her home.

Susan was born on September 27, 1948 in Tuscola, Illinois the daughter of the late William Jackson, Sr. and Mildred (Cunningham) Jackson. 

Susan enjoyed working with her sister traveling the country doing craft shows.  She completed culinary school and lived out her passion through catering, teaching cake decorating and candy classes.  She was a devout Catholic as a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.  Susan was a member of the Marion Moose Lodge, and the American Legion of Van Buren where she enjoyed taking many different fabulous desserts.

She is survived by a son, Jim (Jennifer) Richey of Ft. Wayne; daughters, Mary Lynn (Mike) Valle of Ooltewah, Tennessee and Melissa Yeakle (Steve Shipley) of Kokomo; her sister, Mary Murans of Fishers; sister-in-law, Dianne Jackson of Rockford, Michigan; grandchildren, Ashley (Josh) Foran, Allison (Josh) Miller, Clayton Yeakle, Christopher Valle, Brandon Yeakle, Kiersten Richey, Matthew Valle, and Austin Richey; 3 great-grandchildren; and many friends and family.

Susan was also preceded in death by brother, William Jackson, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Voldemars Murans.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana with Father Hillary officiating.  Visitation for friends and family will take place later Friday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Graveside Services and Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. (C.S.T.) on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Arcola Township Cemetery in Arcola, Illinois.
