Virginia “Ginny” Berry, age 97 of Marion passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Rolling Meadows Health Care in LaFontaine, Indiana.
Ginny was born on September 14, 1923 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of the late Marlin Branson and Mildred (Grant) Peden.
Ginny was a Seaman 1st Class in the U. S. Navy serving during WWII. She married William Nathan “Bill” Berry on January 10, 1945 and they shared 57 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2002. She was a homemaker and had also worked at the Grant County Assessor’s Office, and during tax time at Ewer & Moritz C.P.A. Ginny was a member of Unity Christian Church formerly Marion Church of Christ.
Ginny is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Paul, a.k.a. “The Kount”) Kennedy of Marion and Becky (Kenneth) Luse of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 10 step great-grandchildren.
Ginny was also preceded in death by sisters, Betty Lyon, Mary “Becky” Rich and Madeline Shea Ziegler; and one step-grandchild.
Friends and family may call from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 W. Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Kevin Greenlee officiating.
Burial will take place in Estates of Serenity Cemetery, Marion, Indiana immediately following funeral services.
