Owner/Funeral Director

Charles was born in Herrin, Illinois. He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. degree in Management and an A.A.S. in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service.

He has been a licensed funeral director since 1990. Charlie purchased the funeral home on December 1, 2001. He is a member of the Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge, the Aero Club, McCulloch Lodge No. 737, F&AM, and the Samaritan Lodge No. 105 F&AM, all of Marion.  Charlie has one daughter, Sydney.



Business Manager/Pre-Need Counselor

Brenda has been with the funeral home since March 1996. She was born in Marion and has lived in Grant County all her life. She is a graduate of Mississinewa High School and Wright School of Cosmetology.  She is also a licensed Pre Need Counselor for the funeral home and enjoys assisting families in their time of need.

She is the mother of daughter, Lyndsay Speikes (husband, Corey) of Urbana, Maryland; and son, Justin Whitton (wife, Irina Zaitseva) of Marion, Indiana.  She is also the proud "Nana" of two granddaughters, Madison & Keira Speikes and grandson, Jamison Speikes.

Brenda enjoys cooking, reading, bowling, shuffleboard, traveling and spending time with family and special friends.  She and her husband, Greg reside in Gas City and are members of the Gas City Moose Lodge and the American Legion, Fairmount.



Funeral Director

Scott is a 2001 graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service.  Scott has been serving the families of Grant, Huntington and Wabash Counties for the last 16 years.  He married Shelly (Mays) Warren in 1996 and they have three children: Kimberly (David) Branning, Ft. Wayne, Dakota Robinson, Marion and Brandon (Adrienne) Warren, Liberty Mills, Indiana.  They also have five grandchildren, Tasha, Bentley, Everett, Brooklyn and Killian.

Scott is a veteran of the Indiana Army National Guard and served two tours in Iraq. He is a member of the VFW Post 7403, Marion and the American Legion Post 286.

He enjoys spending time with his family, riding his Harley, canoeing, and tending bees.    Scott and Shelly reside in Fairmount, Indiana.



Aftercare Coordinator

Kelly has been with the funeral home since January 2017.  She is a graduate of Oak Hill High School and attended Ivy Tech.  She grew up in Sweetser but has lived in Marion the last 14 years.  She also worked previously with special needs preschool children "Little Giants" at Marion Community Schools.

She is married to Doug Pearcy and they have two sons, Conner and Cohen and reside in Sweetser.  Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and going out on their boat.  Her family attends St. Paul Catholic Church in Marion.



Associate/Funeral Director

Darwin graduated from the Indiana College of Mortuary of Science in 1962.  He has been a licensed funeral director for over 50 years.  He is the former owner and founder of DeLaughter Mortuary, North Manchester and Silver Lake, Indiana.

Darwin and his wife, Valeria reside in North Manchester and have three children: Tana (Darin) Lehr of Delphi, Tony (Kelly) DeLaughter of North Manchester and Tim (Michelle) DeLaughter of Charleston, South Carolina.  They have nine grandchildren and on great-grandchild.

Darwin is the past governor of the Indiana District of Kiwanis, a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 88 and is also a Shriner.

Darwin joined the Raven-Choate Funeral Home staff in April 2018.
