Larry F. Nelson, age 77, formerly of Marion, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Salem, Indiana.

Larry was born on December 11, 1939 in Marion, Indiana the son of the late Gerald and Ruby (Pulley) Nelson.  He was the owner/operator of Nelson’s Heating and Air in Marion, was a former HVAC teacher at Ivy Tech and was a certified rifle instructor with the NRA.   Larry married October 15, 1994 to Jeannette Alice (Lynn) Nelson and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2015. 

He is survived by son, Mark (spouse Nick Paternostro) Nelson of Delray Beach, Florida; two daughters, Susan (Mark) Artherhults of Marion, Indiana and Sally Fear of Clearwater, Florida; brother, Jim (Karma) Nelson of Montana; sister-in-law, Linda Watson-Clendenin of Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren, Chad (Jenny) Artherhults of Marion, Aja Fear of Denver, Colorado and Tara Stewart of Monroeville, Indiana; and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Nelson and a brother, George Nelson.

Visitation will take place from noon to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana.

Funeral Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Wesley Ball officiating.

Burial will take place in Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
