I can remember Mr. Delvin as my principal at Frances Slocum Elementary school in Marion. My elementary (Emerson) had closed and i was a 5th grader going to a new school and he was very nice and made us "newbies" feel very welcome. I was thinking about him not too long ago when i read that a couple former teachers of mine had passed. My condolences to your family.

Dear Velma,

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers at this most difficult time. As a fellow principal with Jim we had some good times together working to improve the education for students in MCS. He could always come-up with some neat and unique ideas for improvement. One of my fondest memories were the times we were invited to join him on his house boat. What a hoot! I pray that Jim is now in the arms of our Savior Jesus enjoining his eternal home.
